Sexuality Counseling Service
Sexual difficulties are common among married couples. A local study found that among those who sought treatment at assisted reproductive centres, more than 22% of wives and 39% of husbands reported having sexual desire or sexual functional difficulties. Those problems include sexual desire discrepancies between partners, vaginal pain or insufficient erectile firmness during coital attempts, and lacking pleasure or inability to perform intravaginal ejaculation during sexual intercourse. These frustrating difficulties can be resolved through attending sexuality counseling.
Our Infertility Nurse Triage Clinic or Doctors of Assisted Reproductive Technology Unit identify those couples experiencing sexual difficulties and refer them to attend the Sexuality Counseling Clinic.
Our sexuality counselor collaborates closely with gynecologists, urologists and specialist nurses to deliver a comprehensensive sexual healthcare so that various bio-psychosocial causes can be addressed.
Sexuality counseling enables attending couples to gain scientific knowledge about healthy sex and romantic love. Each couple is supported to redesign their unique intimate lifestyle through learning customized sexual communication and interaction skills. Our service can resolve those sexual difficulties caused by psychosocial factors, reduce physical and mental stress emerged during assisted reproduction, enhance sex pleasure, and thereby serve to make refreshing and pleasant changes in marital relationship.
